EDF Tables

EDF_LAB is an electronic version of a Laboratory Report.  It may be used for the production of hard copy reports, electronic data review, or data summaries. EDF_LAB is an absolute reflection of the legally defensible hard copy laboratory report consisting of five related files, or as a flat and cl file. Table structure and example files are provided below:

 

TABLE NAME DESCRIPTION - RELATIONAL
SAMPLE Contains location, collection, matrix, and administrative information associated with field samples. Identifies laboratory and field team.
TEST Provides information about the analytical methods and preparations preformed on both field and quality control samples.  Includes preservation and transport details.
RESULT Reports the parameter results including detection limits and dilution factors.  Surrogates and Internal Standard are identified.
QC Links quality samples to the original sample results for purposes of calculation (i.e., matrix spike).
CL Lists the laboratory control limits.  This file may contain all laboratory limits, not just the limits associated with the in the file

FLAT Combines the SAMPLE, TEST, RESULTS, AND QC tables providing a flat version of the relational files. 
CL Lists the laboratory control limits.  This file may contain all laboratory limits, not just the limits associated with the in the file
